We currently have a vacancy for a casual Yard Assistant .The RoleThis role requires you to coordinate the availability of buses between service delivery and workshop, whilst maintaining smooth dispatch and receiving of buses.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure all buses are fuelled and ready for serviceMaintain cleanliness of the yard as requiredConduct oil and water checks on buses as neededEnsure Fuel Bay and Wash Bay are cleaned and assess for any WHS issuesEnsure services buses are available for workshops as neededAssist with bus cleanliness by washing buses and rims.Follow all instructions from the Yard CoordinatorCover any trips as required to ensure services are maintainedComplete on road change overs as requiredReport on yard performance and processes as requiredWeekend work may be required.We are looking for someone who is:Able to handle multiple tasks at any given time with a proven ability to effectively prioritise their workloadFlexible and adaptable in their approach to the working hours required per week where overtime or weekend work may be requiredConfident in working autonomously or within a team environmentCapable of displaying a mature and professional approach with internal staff and external partiesAble to embody Busways Core Values and behaviours dailyThe Successful Applicant will possess:Knowledge and experience of Busways Operations working environment and its intricacies A sound ability to communicate and engage with employees at all levelsDemonstrated Operations knowledge including service delivery, rostering, incident management, work, health and safety, inclusion, and diversity.Demonstrated problem-solving skills, the capacity to successfully deliver high quality outcomes and meet deadlinesStrong attention to detailCurrent Australian minimum HR drivers licence issued by the relevant StateKnowledge of the local area and surrounding suburbsA mature and professional approach in dealing with both internal and external stakeholdersAn intermediate level of computer skills but be savvy enough to learn new skills in a fast-paced environmentThe successful applicant will also be provided with any necessary on the job training required to fulfill the role.Great work environmentWe foster a fun, flexible and friendly working environment that encourages its employees to learn and develop:Fitness Passport, a great scheme allowing you and your family to access multiple pools and fitness facilities around Sydney and regional NSW all under one competitive membership fee Employee Assistance Program by Telus Health, giving you and your family access to an independent organisation that provides a broad range of personal support servicesApply nowIf you believe this is the perfect role for you, please apply by submitting a resume and a cover letter that specifically addresses your skills and experience in relation to the role, duties and required skill-set.
