Over the past 80 years we have developed a passionate and engaging brand in the transport sector and are one of the most well-known bus passenger transport operators in our operating regions.With a team of more than 2,600 people, committed to transporting over 60 million passengers each year, we pride ourselves on taking a proactive approach to public transport delivery to ensure the customer’s journey is as seamless as possible.The OpportunityWe’re looking for a passionate and experienced Visual Communications Manager to lead our small but mighty inhouse creative team.The primary purpose of this role is to manage Busways’ visual brand and execute creative strategy to curate a strong and credible brand experience for customers, clients and employees.Guiding two direct reports - our graphic designer and digital content producer - you will work collaboratively alongside the marketing communications team and internal departments, to develop and implement creative campaigns and initiatives. This includes managing the creative process end-to-end, scoping briefs, concept development, project management and communications, and production of finished graphics, assets, documents, and templates.Projects include animated and live action video, illustration work, sub-brand identity development, full spectrum of print collateral, wayfinding, websites, promotional products, photography, public transport information within Government brand guidelines, corporate communications and bid proposals.The role reports directly to the Head of Marketing and Customer Experience and is a member of the marketing and customer experience management team.The right person for us will be passionate about visual communications and its boundless potential to transform brand experience through creative and engaging content. The job offers a diverse landscape for creative projects - examples from recent times include our automated vehicle project BusBot, our on demand transport solution Cooee Busways, and an array of customer-facing campaigns.Role responsibilities Manage, develop and empower the visual communications team, encouraging continual learning and growth individually and as a teamDeliver strong, consistent brand experience for customers, clients and employees in all visual communicationsDevelop, integrate and implement brand, sub-brand, and client brand standards and guidelinesUnderstand business needs and objectives and develop creative briefs in collaboration with internal clients and direct reportsConceptualise and plan creative visual solutions for services, programs, projects, tools and campaignsManage team resourcing, delegating projects and tasks and ensuring project deadlines are metLiaise and collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients including managing expectations throughout projectsProduce artwork for a broad range of print, digital and web projects (Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office 365)Manage the user interface and design of our websites and web-platformsSupport end users of templates, photos and brand assets with suitable access and trainingRequired qualifications and skills Tertiary qualifications in graphic design10+ years’ experience working in graphic design including brand managementProficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Affects)Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and PowerPointProject management skills including leading a team to deliver projects within timeframesStrong understanding of, and passion for, visual communication and its role in engaging brand audiencesProven experience managing multiple stakeholders and complex projects with interdependent deadlinesCreatively-driven, self-motivated and action orientedPrepared to work extra hours when required during business-critical projects and to deliver on your team’s deadlinesGreat work environmentJoin a fun, friendly team in a supportive work environment where creative opportunities are plentiful and rewarding.
