Now is an exciting time in public transport with introduction of new sustainable technologies, on demand bus services and trials of driverless vehicles. The OpportunityWe currently have a full-time role for a Transit Data Analyst in our Scheduling Team at our support office based in Pymble.This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking, innovative and rapidly growing company. The opportunity will best suit an individual who is data focused, yet has strong communication skills and can clearly demonstrate this in their outputs.Importantly, the successful candidate will be someone who possess a strong work ethic and thrives on the accuracy and deadline driven nature of working in a high performing team. The JobReporting to the Scheduling Manager, we are looking for an individual to efficiently manage their workload whilst assisting the team in compiling relative data.Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to;Utilise conversion of raw data to inform decision making of internal stakeholders.Utilise knowledge of descriptive statistics and ability to execute statistical analyses and apply mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problemLearn the transit scheduling software HASTUS, including working in the live data base. This includes learning and understanding the data specifications particularly associated to bus operation.Execute structural changes to transit data and internal records management associated with computerised scheduling, ensuring up to date information is accessible by depots and drivers.Manipulate and derive transit scheduling information relative to adjacent departments for purposes of planning, route and trip analysis, tenders, submissions and proposals.Analyse and assess the performance of actual and scheduled data to evaluate and influence change and promote high quality service delivery. This includes the analysis of large datasets, creating solutions and dealing with transit data related queries as they arise. Essential Skills/ExperienceMS Office skills, with Advanced Excel skills.Experience in gathering, manipulating and analysing data and producing meaningful reports.Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.A positive attitude, willingness to learn and professional approach.Your application should have a CV and a covering letter addressing each essential skills demonstrating your suitability for the roleAustralian/NZ PR/Citizen. What is working for Busways like?
