Now is an exciting time in public transport with introduction of new sustainable technologies, on demand bus services and trials of driverless vehicles.The JobThis exciting role will report to the Finance Manager and the responsibilities of the position will include but is not limited the following:Varied financial accounting duties, including managing daily banking, completion of month end related tasks and balance sheet account reconciliations.Analysis and Review of P&L and Financial statements.Responsible for planning and organising year end accounting and Income Tax returns.Oversee all compliance and reporting requirements.Evaluating and enhancing related aspects of internal controls and procedures in connection with accounting and business operations.Preparation of BAS.Lease Accounting and Analysis.Working closely with senior members in the team to ensure timely and accurate month end reports.Willing to take on additional ad-hoc tasks when required to meet business requirements.Essential CriteriaDegree in accounting and CA/CPA qualified.Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role or in a reputable professional services firm.Minimum of 2-5 years staff management experience.Proven experience reviewing financial statements whilst demonstrating a complete understanding of notes and declarations required to comply with Accounting and Tax requirements.Experience with AASB16 or similar accounting standards implementation.Proven ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills in order to build strong working relationships with all stakeholders.Team Player.An analytical mindset with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.Working knowledge of MS Office with Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office product suites.Extensive experience in building and maintaining automated workbooks in Excel.Excellent attention to detail.Desirable CriteriaExperience with accounting standards and tax laws applicable for TrustExperience with Greentree, QlikKnowledge and experience in financial analysis and business modellingWhat is it like working at Busways?We foster a fun, flexible and friendly working environment that encourages its employees to learn and develop. Some of our employee benefits include:Flexible Working Hours, we encourage flexibility in the workplace thus, our employees have the ability to start early and finish early or vice versa.
