You will be given the opportunity to grow, develop and take on additional responsibilities during your employment. Heavy vehicle mechanic experience is preferred but not necessary as we are willing to train and develop the right individual for the position. Regardless of the level of your skills, Busways will train you to be able to progress and further expand your knowledge & skills as a heavy vehicle diesel mechanic.Role responsibilitiesReporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role requires you to have a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills. Your main duties will include:Diagnosing, inspecting, reconditioning, servicing & repairing the fleet and ensuring safety, quality and Busways standards are followed at all timesMaintaining all company vehicles and assets in accordance with Manufacturer's guidelinesEnsuring all maintenance work is performed according to company proceduresAttending breakdowns and carrying out any field related mechanical repairsEffectively and efficiently communicate any safety or maintenance issuesAdhering to all Work, Health & Safety requirements whilst performing work dutiesMaintaining clean workshop practices Eligibility CriteriaTo be considered for this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:Relevant trade qualifications essential (you should have completed either a Certificate III in light vehicle or heavy commercial vehicle technology)Experience in the service and maintenance of vehicles, we would be happy to provide training to assist you in developing these skillsEnsure adherence to safety standards and company policiesSound level of verbal and written communicationExperience in working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedulesBe proactive with a drive to finding better ways to continuously improve and be adaptable in a dynamic and growing teamWe are looking for real, not perfect individuals that are passionate and invested in achieving outcomesAs a Busways employee you will:Maintain a fleet of 125+ including the latest Euro 5 &6 modelsBe offered a competitive Salary that could earn you up to $97k+ Be provided with ongoing training and developmentHave the opportunity to work overtime hours as and when available including Saturday, and be paid at applicable penalty ratesWork in a close-knit and team orientated environment that celebrates together with quarterly BBQ’sA/C licence upgrade & ongoing cost paid for by BuswaysBe provided the opportunity to upgrade from a car licence to HR licence, with the cost paid for by the companyParticipate in specific training that will assist in learning the on-the-job requirements and you will also have access to ongoing regional manager supportHave the opportunity for future career developmentOur workshop staff play a critical role within the business to ensure our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles are continually maintained to the highest standard to keep our staff and passengers safe out on the road.Busways provides ongoing training and support to employees based on their level of experience to enable staff to meet our standards.
