About the role: We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Depot Manager to lead our Ryde depot with the support of our existing staff.⯠You will be responsible for the efficient management and operation of bus services from the depot, ensuring compliance with both internal and contractual performance standards. Reporting to the Area Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our Service Delivery objectives to achieve our vision of being Australia's leading public transport company - the first choice for our clients, customers, and employees. If you have a proven track record in managing teams (preference in transport and logistics) with a focus on service delivery, possess strong people management skills and you are looking for your next challenge, then this role could be for you! Role Responsibilities: This role will have overall responsibility for the daily service delivery requirements, with a key focus on our depots and its people. This includes, but not limited to: Oversee daily depot operations including employee dispatch, payroll, rostering, and investigations. Ensure compliance with national operating frameworks and KPIs impacting service delivery and customer satisfaction. Maintain a safe and compliant work environment, adhering to WHS policies and conducting regular safety audits. Lead and develop a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, adaptability, and collaboration. Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Busways’ strategic objectives. Conducting enquiries and investigations in grievance and disciplinary matters in an impartial and sensitive manner as well as in a thorough and efficient manner Maintaining effective recruitment & selection to ensure a full complement of drivers and administration staff Providing after hours support to key personnel and emergency services â¯To be successful in this role, you mustâ¯have: Minimum of 5 years in a management role within the public transport or logistics industry, with a proven track record of managing large teams and fleet operations. Strong leadership and people management skills, capable of fostering a positive work environment and building effective teams. Understanding of transport operations, fleet management, and maintenance scheduling. Knowledge of relevant local transport laws, regulations, and industry standards. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to negotiate and influence various stakeholders. Intermediate, practical knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite NSW drivers’ licence Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship Desirable requirements Qualifications in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience in change management and implementing new technologies within transport operations.
