Seeking a proactive and digitally savvy media and communications professional to provide a high standard of professional reputation management through strategic communications initiatives, media relations and storytelling.
The Opportunity
Fantastic opportunity to lead our communications strategy and help build our brand and reputation through your solid media and communications skills including social and digital. Proactively develop engaging content from across the business seeking out innovative stories and ideas aligned to strategic objectives. This role is instrumental in supporting the growth and enhancement of our brand in the transport industry and manages all media relations, collaborating closely with stakeholders across the business. You are a proactive, results-driven individual with highly developed strategic communication skills. You love to write with the audience in mind, thrive on positively managing communications and are motivated by achieving results. You enjoy storytelling and crafting communications to engage different audiences. This position will be pivotal in achieving company goals during an exciting time of brand revitalisation and growth, so the ability to identify and understand key industry themes and challenges, drive projects forward and work with multiple stakeholders is necessary.
About the opportunity!
Your top priority is to proactively manage Busways’ reputation through considered and well-crafted communications advice, strategies and initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic communications advice to build our brand and reputation as a leading public transport provider
- Develop thoughtful, effective and measurable communications plans for corporate and key projects
- Source, write, schedule and deliver engaging storytelling and content across a range of communications platforms
- Manage media enquiries and drive proactive media coverage aligned with strategic objectives, working within government client requirements
- Develop and manage brand communications materials
Criteria
You must have 4 years’ experience in a similar role and can demonstrate skills and experience in:
Technical
- Proactively managing media to evolve brand, including developing media releases, responding to media enquiries and working with others on content and approvals
- Providing strategic communications advice to support business objectives
- Planning, researching and constructing a range of material including thought-leadership pieces, award submissions, promotions, publications, online media, digital campaigns, program materials and other related activities
- Driving social media strategy, managing the content calendar and developing engaging content
- Working within brand guidelines and driving brand consistency across all communications
- A high degree of accuracy and have high attention to detail
Personal attributes
- Great communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to own a project, work it through to completion and work on multiple projects
- Can work independently and collaboratively to find solutions
- Track record as a team player with a positive attitude and desire to learn
- Tenacity, resilience, work ethic and initiative and take pride in your contribution
- Excellent organisation, multi-tasking, and time management skills
- Positive and patient with high Emotional Intelligence (EQ) to work constructively with different individuals and groups
Qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in communications or similar
- NSW Driver's Licence
- Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen
