Accounts Payable Assistant

We currently have a full-time vacancy for a dynamic and motivated Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Support Office located in Pymble.This is an amazing opportunity to join both a growing department and a growing company.The Finance team at Busways comprises of the Accounts, Revenue, Payroll, Business Development Unit (BDU) and School Student Transport Scheme (SSTS) departments. This position will be based specifically within the Accounts department.Key responsibilities of the Accounts department include:Ensuring the company meets all regulatory requirements and adheres to guidelines set by Transport for NSWCapturing transactions accurately and applying the appropriate accounting, taxation and ATO guidelinesDay-to-day transactional accounting such as processing of cash books, accounts payable and accounts receivableManagement of fixed assets, superannuation and contractual reporting The JobYour role will focus on the Accounts Payable function. Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:Processing a high volume of invoices daily.Ensuring creditors are paid within payment terms.Liaising with depots and department manager to ensure expenses are approved on time.Management of relationships with suppliers and other key stakeholders.Supplier Statement reconciliations, precise data entry and creation of payment files.Expense Analysis and reporting.Cashbook entry and Bank reconciliation.Petty cash and driver float management. Additional tasks include but are not limited to:Assisting with various month end processes including journals posting and reconciliation.Data gathering for reports, working with other departments such as operations, scheduling and workshops.Other Ad hoc tasks as required. Essential CriteriaAt least 2 years’ experience in an end-to-end Accounts Payable function.A strong interest in pursuing or working towards a career within the field of Corporate Finance or Accounting.Currently have or are working towards an accounting qualification.MS Office skills, with Intermediate / Advanced Excel skills.An eye for detail and good data entry skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proactive with an enthusiastic attitude and maturity to take ownership of Accounts Payable function.A proactive and inquisitive approach to tasks and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen. Desirable CriteriaWorking knowledge of AP principles, practices, and regulations.You are always thinking about how to do things better and you thrive on overcoming challenges.Strong organisational skills, deadlines are never a problem for you. What is working for Busways like?
