Role Responsibilities:
Assisting the Regional Fleet Asset Manager with the day-to-day management of workshop maintenance activities within the Region through the following:
- Investigate and discuss accidents with Operations Manager
- Ensure all workshop safety complies with WH&S standards.
- Equipment maintenance serviced on a regular basis. o Ensure that all workshops are always clean and tidy.
- Assist Workshop Supervisors to follow the Busways systems and procedures.
- Assess workshop staff for additional mechanics, apprentices, and cleaners.
- Arrange apprentice training.
- Check fuel and oil consumption reports. Identify buses that need attention.
- Conduct monthly checks on buses and report any faults to the Supervisor.
- Visits depots within your area on a weekly basis and report any finding to the Regional Manager of the area.
- Assist workshop staff in fault diagnosis. o Ensure maintenance on depots is carried out effectively
- Oversee all Workshop Supervisors and ensure the achievement of all contractual and relevant internal KPI’s.
- Acting as an escalation point for Workshop Supervisors within the Region and provide support and guidance as needed.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks and other duties as required.
The Successful Applicant Will Have:
- Trade qualification, extensive relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Knowledge and experience of Busways Operations working environment and its intricacies and a sound ability to communicate and engage with employees at all levels.
- Demonstrated knowledge including, complaint handling, employee relations, work, health and safety, policies and procedures, inclusion and diversity.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, the capacity to successfully deliver high quality outcomes and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated successful leadership of unionised workforces within the transport industry, preferably with experience in passenger bus services.
- Leadership capability, experience and demonstrated capacity to coach others
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain successful relationships.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational and time-management skills
- Leadership capability, experience and demonstrated capacity to coach others.
- Creative thinker and proactive problem solver
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative and maintain a high degree of confidentiality when dealing with complex matters.
- Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have working rights in Australia.
- Current Australian drivers licence issued by the relevant State.
