This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking, innovative and rapidly growing company.You will be working in a large, dynamic scheduling team, bringing your industry experience and meticulous approach to our growing team. This includes working alongside several established scheduling specialists, as well as playing an integral part in the communication and development of our team.The role will best suit an individual with a great deal of knowledge and experience within bus scheduling services. This specific opportunity is particularly exciting as it will be predominantly focused on our new contract award of region 7 (SMBSC 7, current STA Contract).Importantly, the successful candidate will be someone who possesses a strong work ethic and thrives on working towards high quality outcomes. In addition, the chosen applicant must be able to meet deadlines and work closely in a high performing team. The JobReporting to the Deputy Head of Scheduling, we are looking for an individual with a background in Transport Scheduling to join an industry leading team committed to high quality outcomes.Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to;Assist in Coordinating bus and crew scheduling to meet the requirements of contracted service plans. This includes services changes, movement or sharing of bus services, routes or trips between Depots and special events as required to ensure fleet and staff are deployed cost effectively.Creation of cost-effective bus and crew schedules (including day-specific schedules that cater for changed schedule requirements such as school charters, special events, school vacation schedules, and public holiday schedules) to meet service delivery needs.Support the Scheduling Team with major schedules reviews and changes including allocated supporting tasks or activities to achieve operational and customer service improvements.Projects - Participate in projects and project teams, to contribute to the achievement of project objectives in accordance with time, cost and quality objectives.Work as a team member, keeping others informed, sharing knowledge and experience, assisting others to achieve business objectives, and contributing to team meetings. As a member of Busways you will: Lead by exampleEmbody Busways Core Values and behaviours dailyDevelop a sound understanding of our history, our Vision, Mission, BHAG and Core ValuesFocus on continuous improvement and achieving resultsEstablish and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with team membersObserve and uphold all of Busways policies and procedures.Observe Busways Integrated Management System Policy and associated procedures.As a transport safety worker, you are required to abide with all regulatory standards and Busways operational and safety requirements Key Competencies:Thorough knowledge of Bus Operator industrial awards and Roads and Maritime Services shift regulations and their implications for scheduling.Sound working knowledge of bus service operations, and network planning and delivery, including network integration with other transport modes.Project management skills.Well-developed oral and written communication skills.Extensive experience in assessing operational data and applying quality and continuous improvement principles to recommend improvements.Advanced knowledge of and good experience in working with computerised systems including the HASTUS Scheduling software.Advanced skills in constructing cost effective schedules that meet operational requirements and comply with the relevant awards and conditions.Ability to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain effective team relationships.High level strategic system advisory and analytical skills. What's in it for you?This is a great opportunity to join an industry leading Scheduling Team.
