You know how to prioritise work and have the willingness to learn new skills and softwares.Role ResponsibilitiesWorking in the Operations Control Centre (OCC) will provide insight into the daily operations of the public transport industry. Being a part of an office/traffic control environment where you are responsible for communicating accurate information to our bus drivers. Reporting to the Operations Control Centre Manager, this role requires you to have a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills. The responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:Data entry tasks through Microsoft Office suite (Excel & Word)Monitoring bus movements across our network through using screen based equipment and bus graphs/mapsDealing with incident management and government reporting guidelinesAdhering to and enforcing set KPI’sMonitoring and maintaining our in-house programsMonitoring and responding to our bus drivers through two-way communication systems (i.e. two-way radios) and, liaising with bus drivers to direct and instruct movement across Busways’ operational networksImplementing alternative plans in the event where accidents or disruptions occur to Busways’ operational networksWorking as part of a team and autonomously when necessaryLiaising with customers after hours via messages for our Cooee on demand serviceThe successful applicant will be required to work on a rotating roster thus, being flexible with your start and finish times is quite important for this role. This is a requirement due to the operational needs of the business in ensuring our OCC department are able to monitor our hours of service (i.e. the times in which our buses are out on the road).Essential ExperienceExcellent communication skills to provide clear and concise information to our bus driversIntermediate computer skills – experience in using including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Ability to work under pressure within a fast paced environment and completing multiple tasks at any given timeDemonstrable problem-solving and attention to detail skillsStrong interpersonal skills, with a track record as a team playerA can-do attitude and willingness to take ownershipA valid NSW drivers licenceMust be either a Permanent Resident or Australian CitizenDesirable ExperienceKnowledge of the Greater Western Sydney, Central Coast and/or the North West regionsOperations/controller experience within a similar industry or scopePrior experience within a similar role is preferred but is not essential.
