This will be a hands-on role, with the opportunity to develop and put into practice team management skills.This is an exciting opportunity to join our Workshops team within a growing company and a supportive, friendly team environment. Regardless of the level of your skills, Busways will train you to be able to progress and further expand your knowledge & skills as a heavy diesel mechanic.Role responsibilitiesReporting to the Regional Workshop Manager, this role requires you to have a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills. Your main duties will include:Mentoring apprentices to learn their trade and playing a critical role in their growth within the teamDay to day running of the workshopDiagnosing, inspecting, reconditioning, servicing & repairing the fleet and ensuring safety, quality and Busways standards are followed at all times.Maintaining all company vehicles and assets in accordance with Manufacturer's guidelinesEnsuring all maintenance work is performed according to company proceduresAttending breakdowns and carrying out any field related mechanical repairsMaintaining clean workshop practices on a daily basisAdhering to all Work, Health & Safety requirements whilst performing work dutiesMaintaining company tools and equipment in good working orderEligibility CriteriaTo be considered for this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:Relevant trade qualifications essentialExperience in a similar role with the same level of responsibilities would be highly regardedMinimum 5 years working as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel MechanicStrong focus on adherence to safety standards and company policiesSound level of verbal and written communicationExperience in working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedulesBe proactive with a drive to finding better ways to continuously improve and be adaptable in a dynamic and growing teamWe are looking for real, not perfect individuals that are passionate and invested in achieving outcomesAs a Busways employee you will:Be offered a competitive Salary that could earn you up to $106K+ Be provided with ongoing training and developmentHave overtime hours available and be paid at applicable penalty ratesHave the opportunity to work on a range of vehicles such as Euro 5 & 6 technologiesWork in a close-knit and team orientated environment that celebrates together with quarterly BBQ’sBe provided with Flexibility- as we operate in various locations you will be allowed transfer opportunities to work in different locations.
